Meet the clinicians

Dr. Martina Dawoud is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (Psy.D). She received her doctorate from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. As a generalist, Dr. Dawoud has worked with patients of all ages, treating a wide range of diagnoses. She conducts psychotherapy through an integration of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Diversity Psychology, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She also works with children and parents on behavioral modification and parent management skills. She has done extensive training in integrating these modalities to treat anxiety related disorders in adults.

Dr. Dawoud also has experience in the area of psychological assessment, particularly cognitive testing. Assessments can be used as a diagnostic tool, but are also used to assess strengths, weaknesses, and in order to create recommendations in the areas of executive and psychological functioning.

Megan Szymanek is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master of Arts in Psychology and a specialization in Mental Health Counseling. With nearly a decade of experience, she has worked with a wide range of diagnoses and age groups. Megan’s therapeutic style is authentic and integrative, tailoring her approach to the individual rather than adhering to a “one-size-fits-all” model. Her practice incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Insight-Oriented Therapy.

Megan has extensive experience treating anxiety-related disorders and holds certifications as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) and Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). Committed to using compassion-focused brain and body modalities, Megan views symptoms as clues and seeks to heal at the root.
